We find it a challenge when rigs pull in next to us with families.

Any suggestions?
Buy land

We don't have kids either but kids on bikes, socializing with other campground kids and playing outside is the best part of camping! But I understand why it bothers some so I'll try to answer the question asked:

Cold weather or off season camping is pretty much just adults, very few families, especially if you can take weekdays off. Smaller campgrounds that are first come first serve attract less families.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I know its all about good attitude, but I still believe there has got to be campgrounds that cater to those who want to enjoy the quiet sounds of nature.

Olympic National Park

As an NPS Park Ranger in the summer at Mesa Verde N.P. ( I know that its too far to go from Seattle for a weekend) I would highly recommend Olympic NP. Because Olympic has such diversity and there is no central, trans-park hwy, I would recommend Elwah Dam RV Park outside Port Angeles. Elwha Dam RV Park

I like this park because of the staff and its proximity to a number of Park entrances.

Check out the Park website; Olympic National Park - Olympic National Park

Download the park map.

There is so much diversity, you can make forays into the park at many different places and never see the same thing twice.

I hope you enjoy the National Parks!
