From the COLD mid-east (OHIO) - Winter is here. I left Ohio (below freezing the morning of my flight) for a couple of days in Florida to attend my father's Memorial service a couple of weeks ago. 85 and 86 degrees in sunny Orlando - what a great winter!! Then I returned to Ohio to lots of snow on the ground! It rained yesterday and much of it has disappeared for a couple of days but we know it'll be back. Then I see your photos - reminding me of the great winter weather in Florida.....why do we stay in the north???? Thanks for sharing - great shots!!! Best wishes on your future 'streaming.

Thanks for the pics, TV. Makes this Ohio Sunshine {rain & snow} a little less depressing. Is it Spring yet?

Advantages to living in Fl.
My mother used to take us there 30 years ago as kids. The place was then and is now as you described it. One of the best parks I have ever been in. I get over there for day visits now and then and check out the campsites. You can't get a reservation for the place. It stays full year round.

David,
What is the admission system now? It used to be no reservations and you had to go to the park or the county office to sign up?
Haven't been there in years. Definitely one of the premier parks in the country.
You are making me rethink staying home this winter

You need to make reservations 6 months ahead of time, although they do save a few sites for walk-ins. Florida or Pinellas County (can't remember which) residents can reserve 7 months ahead, so you really need to plan. Starting a couple of years ago, you can now make reservations on-line.
Primo, though, particularly if you like running, biking, kayaking, beaches or just staring at the water. I don't know if you can see in the picture, but at times you could practically reach out and touch the dolphins.

Reervatqon
The reservations are online and over the phone these days.. You still can get rservations in the park but be careful to book your entire stay from the last day of your stay.. It is 6 months in advance from the last day of your stay... Not the 1st day of your stay with them.. Also Pinellas county resident and Fl. residents may book 7 months in advance.. Hope this Helps.. I am looking forward to meeting you all at some of the raillies and future travels of Our Good Ship "Aloha Dreams"..
