Washington State Coast
We're planning a mid-to-late September trip to the Washington Coast and I'm looking for recommendations about the best locations for photography. I'm aware that certain tribal locations are closed, so I'd appreciate your suggestions for accessible areas where I can capture some pictures of iconic hay stacks and rugged coastline shots. Hoping for some heavy surf, maybe even a storm or two.
Also, if you have campground recommendations, pls pass them along.
Thanks for your help,
Paul

Hi Paul, Had a look at your site and you have to say that you have a great eye for photography in my opinion.
Keep a watch out for the monthly theme photo contests on this forum. Currently, for July was a doing night shots with the Airstream in the photo. It is great fun and there are some pretty cool photos being posted.

Paul,
I would suggest a day or two in the Hoh Rain Forest. There is a campground there and we stayed there many years ago. It was breathtaking.
Sounds like you have a fun trip ahead. Best Wishes.

I was going to suggest staying with the Quileute Nation out at Forks. The terrain is the kind you're looking for, is maintained in pristine and untouched condition by the Nation. You just have to remember that you're a guest of the Quileute Nation and conduct yourself as such.
But I just checked... and they're closed due to COVID.
If you do decide to drive the Peninsula, do so from North to South, not the other way. There are a lot of great places to pull over and snap pictures in that direction, but all those turnouts are on the wrong side of the road and really hard to get into if you're going the other way.

We have visited the Ho Rain Forrest before and plan a return. Thx for the suggestion. I like the idea of traveling the 101 loop from north to south on the coast side. That brings up another question.
Any suggestions for particularly scenic spots on the east side sucxh as the Hood Canal, etc? I'd appreciate your ideas.
Paul
