Looks nice. I've never camped on Tablerock because my brother has a house down there, but that looks great. Hmmm, might just have to go down there, and not tell him. Ha. Hey, is it peaceful enough there to take out a kayak? (Maybe during the week?)
Thx
Jeff

Yes, kayaks are easily launched from the campsites that are along the shoreline especially the ones on the peninsula like ours.

The first photo is our Airstream from the water in our kayak, an inflatable Sea Eagle FastTrack 385. The second is a pano of the campground.

Amazing to think in July with so much rain this campsite was under water. We reserved an adjacent one and recreation.gov had to cancel us.

Salt Creek Campground

We were hoping to see Canada across the Strait of Juan De Fuca but got only fog. Oh well, this is a great campground on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington....Salt Creek Campground site #66.

Nicely done! We love Salt Creek, but had only camped in the "RV Section". Site #66 looks like a perfect fit for boondocking. If the weather had been better, your view would have been spectacular. You'll definitely have to try again.

Many years ago, I was in the Seattle area for a meeting. My wife went up with me early, and we explored around. We took a ferry across to the Olympic Peninsula. We spent a few nights at Crescent Lake Lodge. Very nice. I remember driving around, and because we were campers back then, we drove into a campground near Hurricane Ridge (I think.)
The one thing I remember most was a big camper parked in a site, where one of the huge trees had toppled over. The tree, laying on it's side, was still as tall or taller than the camper! I've always wanted to pull our camper back to that location, and try to find that campground, and maybe that site. Any idea about where we were? I'd sure like to know. (Sorry for the thread hijack..)
Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff.... it was probably Heart of the Hills campground. A NPS spot that is 5 miles from Port Angeles and near the road to Hurricane Ridge. We stayed there a long time ago and it was great.

Thumbs up Ken's Lake, Moab, UT - 38.4766, -109.4224

We're back in Moab for the next 14 days. We've even got an Airstream neighbor down there.

The view outside the door is spectacular!

Also, a short hike from our camp site is a water fall and a lake:

Thank you. Still a few years away from retirement, and driving that far in a two week vacation isn't practical. I have time to do a little research. Maybe I'll find that campsite.

Watkins Glen, NY. Really nice area, colder this weekend then it should be. had to pull my water hose last night because of the temps.

But gorgeous colors this time of the year.
