Here we go again...
This is the second part our Airstream Trip 2012 trough Italy with a third one following...
In this part we spent a few days on the beautiful Island of Elba (the one that Napoleon was banned to).
The Island is just an hour away with the ferry from the Italian Riviera coast. As there is no big commercial Airport on this island there is no mass tourism and the island has kept a lot of its original charme ...
There are several campsites on the island but the one in Scaglieri seems to be the nicest one.
Its located with a stunning view over the bay of Scaglieri and you can reach the beach just by going down the stairs.
The campsite is a bit narrow but they help you to bring down bigger trailers with a small tractor...
The cities and villages are all very charming and food is Mediterranean style.
Really enjoyed this part and will definitely return to Elba sooner or later... :-)
