Vacuums and cleaning aids

Super excited to get our FC and looking for recommendations on lightweight, compact, efficient vacuum.

Any other cleaning hints are appreciated. Thanks!

I've used the Dyson Animal cordless for about 4 years now. Does a great job in trailer and truck, charge lasts a few cleanings, tools reach every place I have. Stores in closet.

I have a Shark Pet cordless vacuum, that includes a crevice tool, is reasonably priced, and does a great job.

For sweeping inside the trailer, we use a Camco RV broom + dustpan. Works reasonably well and it's very pleasingly compact.

For a hand vac, we have a Black & Decker Pivot vacuum. Easy to use, powerful (for its size), reliable, long-running, and easy to clean. Handy for vacuuming our tow vehicle interior as well.

After trying several other brands, we have settled on a Dyson.

We use Ridgid cordless vacuum. It fits in drawer under seat is a little bigger but has very strong suction.. It is a wet/dry vac which has been handy.

We use an Oreck, portable, corded vac. Easy storage in a soft basket in the closet. Plenty of outlets in the Flying Cloud for power.

I’ve got a Dyson, but I use a good quality whisk broom most often and some wet paper towels. Lately, my strategy is to pull into a car wash and use the long black hose which last longer and has more suction. I also have a Milwaukee 18v blower that I use to blow out dust.

I use the IRobot Braava floor cleaner. It’s been good but just got new flooring at Jackson Center and don’t think my Braava will do the job anymore.

We use the Dyson V10 also. We have had it for 3 years now and although the battery life isn't what it was new, still more than enough to do our camper and quick truck clean up.

Unless you are going to always be plugged in, find a rechargeable cordless vacuum. We have a Shark and it's great, big selling points for me were the fact that it stores easily (the heavy top sets on the sweeper and it just stands there, fits into the closet with no need to do anything else) as well as that "top"-converts into a great hand vac for the car! And the battery can be removed and recharged anywhere, so no need to mount a charger or stand.

Also invest in a good broom, you might need to sweep outside the trailer, you might need to knock stuff off the awning

Hand Vac, 18V Makita vacuum LXT Lithium

Leo

You're looking for a recommendation for a hand vac.

I suggest you look at the Makita portable vac. We really like this vac in fact we have several of them.
Two in our home (Master bedroom & kitchen), one in our beach condo and one in the Airstream.
Its the right size for a travel trailer, stores easily in back of the closet, battery life is very good, easy to empty the crud and does a good job cleaning.

A big plus for me is that it uses the same 18V battery as my portable drill.
The vacuum, battery and charger will cost about $100-$125.
They are hard to find, I've purchased them on eBay.

After trying numerous vacuums at home and in the RV, I ended up with a lightly used Shark cordless Pet Pro. HEPA filter, special beater fins that resist dog hair clogs, a rechargeable battery that is removable and can be charged anytime. And the "head" can be used without the wand or motorized brush.
