Tucson to Capitol Reef - suggestions please
We are planning a trip from Tucson to Capitol Reef, we are thinking we should go through Las Vegas using rout 93, it is a little longer than the direct rout but it avoids going through Tribal areas which are already overburdened with the Covid-19 situation. This is in line with requests from the various Tribal Nations involved. We figure we should probably overnight in and around Kingman AZ, for a night, preferably without unhitching and then might spend a day or 3 in Valley of Fire State Park in NV.
Open to suggestions for places to camp or must see places en rout? Has anyone stayed at Chloride Western RV Park? it looks to be a mid-point on the rout. We are generally park campers and mostly avoid commercial spots, but when on the road convenience matters.
We are happy to dry camp - it is mostly what we do, but try to avoid miles and miles of poor unpaved roads as they are too hard on the rig.
Many thanks and Happy Camping
