Trip to St. Augustine
My sister and I decided to spend the first week in Feb in Florida this year. She has a timeshare but I wanted to bring the A/S. Well Wed of last week I watched the weather and realized that a major snowstorm was due to hit Virginia - so I planned to leave early Friday morning. All I had to do was put new tires on the tow vehicle and get a state inspection sticker on the A/S. So that three hour job took 7 and I left Virginia Beach at 4:30 PM. Got caught in the beginnings of the storm in N. Carolina, but made it to the S.C. line where it all turned into rain. Whew. It RAINED all the way to Florida... Sure was glad I had a new set of Michelins on the TV. Got to Ocean Grove RV Resort late Saturday. My sister PrudencePB decided to stay in Ohio until the storm cleared WV. She is on her way here now, but has been rerouted by a major landslide on US 40. I hope she'll get here before 9pm.
It's only about 50 degrees and overcast in Florida, but that beats 12 inches of snow in Virginia Beach. Ocean Grove is fine. Quiet and centrally located.

Good to hear you're missing all the frigid action - I'd be interested in hearing if you'd return to Ocean Grove after your trip.
I've never been and am always keen on learning about different campgrounds - the RV Park Reviews about Ocean Grove are all over the map.
Enjoy your trip! Hope you see lots of these:

Let us know your opinion of Ocean Grove. I stayed there for 2 winters a few years back. I have a few friends from Canada that are still staying there. They told me that there is a new owner last year???
Our weather here in Florida has been much colder than it should be.
Be sure to take a drive down on the beach . . . I love St. Augustine for that special treat. Judy

You made the right decision. I was thinking about you as the snow came, and came. Now for more news..you better stay put because they are predicting a repeat for this weekend. You are in a lovely area. When we were in Santa Rosa for the Can Opener it was bitter cold. 50 would be like a summer day. Enjoy!

It's too bad I'm not there right now. I'm actually in CT. I did beat the snowstorm though--by about an hour! while driving up here to visit friends and family. If anyone needs a place to park and walk downtown, let me know. You can use my driveway ;-)

So, where did you go while you were there? What did you do? Who did you see? Did you stop at the same restaurant that served us the "genuine Southern Sweet Tea?" Did you get seasick on the boat ride? Enquiring minds (and ours too) want to know!
