Trip to Santa Fe, NM

We’re planning a trip to Santa Fe, NM in mid May in our airstream. This is our first time there and are looking for ideas on where to stay. We plan to be there 4 days and hope this is enough time? Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Santa Fe Skies or Rancheros de Santa Fe are good choices. Too many restaurants to list.

We found Los Alamos, of the Manhattan Project fame, (about 45 minutes from Sate Fe) to be very interesting and informative.

Bandelier National Monument is also very interesting and well worth the visit.

Black Canyon Campground in Hyde Memorial Park is a good option for the trailer. Everything else is farther out of town

This is where we stayed: https://www.trailerranch.com

Great location in town, nicely kept campground, and since it's 55 and over it's usually quiet.

We'd go back in a heart beat. Last time we were they had 4 Airstream trailers and one Bolero. Really nice crowd.

We have camped at Black Canyon, Santa Fe. We have reservations again this year. Keep in mind there are no services. Last year water was not available in the campground. Campsites are ultra nice. Boondocking in style, + a daily fee. The location makes getting to the square, easy.

A second vote for trailer ranch if you want to stay in town. Right on a bus line, the stop is named trailer ranch. Bus takes you downtown where parking is limited.

We're going to be at the Bernilillo KOA 15-22 May. We tried some other places closer to Los Alamos but couldn't get in. We've stayed there before. Nothing special, but they had a spot for us. Yes, we're going to several of the sites mentioned above.

We’ve stayed at Bandelier NP at Los Alamos and found it very comfortable.

We’ve also “boondocked”…at the very top of the ski area in the parking lot in May. It was totally abandoned/isolated and worked well for us and our generator since we were up there all alone.

We have stayed at Santa Fe Skies many times. Safe, close to everything, but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. The culture is amazing, but the food is now why we go a couple times per year.

The only complaint might be the traffic on Cerillos, but still
Not too bad.

Have fun!
