Traveling in California
We are planning a California trip and I am wondering if anyone has suggestions about routes. First leg is Santa Clarita to San Luis Obispo. Routes, features, road conditions and road safety along with where to stay. Never been so not wanting to do hwy 1 but what about 101. Thanks in advance.

101 has always been an easy tow for me. Two lanes in each direction. Pretty views out the windows and enough curves to be pleasant.

Lots of RV resorts and CG's on the way too. Should not be a problem at all.
