Top of Georgia Airstream Park

Lucy is just completing a five night stay at Top of Georgia Airstream Park, just north of Helen, Georgia. I must say that this is one of the nicest campgrounds that we have ever stayed in anywhere.

The setting in the North Georgia Mountains is gorgeous. There is a lot to do and see in this area. The park is immaculate, and everyone here is friendly and accommodating. Lucy had a beautiful site right on the stream. There are full hook-ups including cable and wifi. There are several covered patios throughout the park with benches for small gatherings. There is also a large hall with kitchen and bathroom facilities.

This Airstream only park is limited to WBCCI Members. Being able to camp here makes it worth belonging to WBCCI. The rates for a site here are $7.00 per night (no, that's not a typo) for full hook-ups.

This stay here at Top of Georgia has, in effect, paid our WBCCI dues for the next two years. Comparable campgrounds in this area go for $35.00 per night. Using that figure, we just saved $140.00 on our five night stay.

We will be leaving her tomorrow on Lucy's next great western adventure, but plan to come back here often.

Brian

October fest

It's a great park and even better if you go for October Fest ,( all of Oct.) Great price and the stream was right behind our trailer, maybe 8ft. Don't bit on the wi-fi though. If you have not been; make plans.

TOG (Top of Georgia) has recently installed equipment that makes wifi available throughout the park. I am on it right now.

That is a great rate. It sure looks like a nice please to be. Super pictures. Is there also a hall that Airstreamers meet in? About how many Airstreams are in the park? Are there seasonal sites as well?

Yes, there is a hall. It is quite large with a full kitchen and card room/library as well. Sites may be rented by the month a well as nightly. I think there are about 110 sites, and always a few Airstreamers in residence. The park is open year around as well. In the winter, it does snow occasionally then melts quickly. You can check out the park website at:

Top of Georgia Airstream Park

We were there for the Spring Rally a few weeks ago and had a site just below the bridge backing up on the creek (it eventually become the Chattahoochee River). Sleeping with the window open and the sound of the creek was wonderful. The park is also pet friendly with areas for pet and non pet Airstreamers.

I would like to plan a trip there, but the web site says "no reservations". Do you have to take a chance on first come, or can you call ahead? Maybe with 110 sites, it's never full except during rallies? It looks & sounds great!

The only time it is ever full (to the best of my knowledge) is during rallies, and at our recent Spring Rally there was still space even then.

Please come on up! If you are more comfortable go ahead an call, but I am sure there will be space whenever you wish to visit.

Yes, but mostly in the Spring and Fall months. Summer is best described as heavy downpours that happen late in the day.

Knunut,

The park has bathrooms in the main hall, but no showers. We do have power, water, sewer, & cable at all sites. Please come and try the park. We have a rally starting on Wednesday running through Memorial Day.

I agree, Top of Georgia is a great park. We travelled down from New Jersey, attended the Spring Rally in April and were welcomed with open arms. The Georgia Unit is proud of their park and rightly so. We spent a couple of days while there just driving the back roads thru the North Georgia mountains. Beautiful.

Craig, it was great to meet you at the Rally. Give my regards to Matt and Steve. Really appreciated your hospitality. Kathi and I hope to get down there again soon.

We really enjoyed our stay at TOG last year. Everyone were so nice and they even helped us out when our TV broke down and had to go the dealership.

We enjoyed it so much we are scheduling a trip again this fall. So see y'all soon!
