Time to replace the welcome mat.....

...and the step covers.

Two years ago today we picked up our flying cloud and immediately went camping for a two night shakedown. We have since traveled nearly 60,000 miles.
We spent January to May 2014 traveling through the southeast attending five different rallies and camping at four different Airstream Parks. In June we headed out again through the Midwest to western Canada and Alaska...that one trip was over 18,100 miles. After a couple local trips, we headed west again after the 2015 Canopener Rally and spent three months in the southwest. We learned a lot about boondocking from Jimmini out near Quartzite. We camped near him and some of his cohorts on BLM for almost 2 1/2 weeks. We continued our boondocking experiences at many fantastic places over the next two months arriving back home to attend our second Alumalina rally in South Carolina. After several local camping trips, we took off again in May. We headed northeast to Jeanne's home state of Vermont followed by a visit with her family in Maine. We then spent the next four months touring all of the Atlantic Provinces, including two months in Newfoundland where we drove nearly 5,700 miles exploring as much of that wonderful place as we could. We arrived home to NC in time to clean up and attend the Fall Alumalina.

So, indeed it is time to changeout that tattered welcome mat and step cover and get ready for our next big journey.

That's the very way that all Airstreams should be treated. Do everything you possibly can to wear that Airsatream out.

Interesting Way to title a post in order to tell us about your travels.

Silver Eagle.....you shame the rest of us. You are living the way we're all suppose to, while most of us are out of breath just reading about your trips. Continued safe travels, and don't forget to buy new tires one of these days. jon

Sooooooo...you just gonna flip the mat over and use the other side, hm?

Kidding. Great story.

I have always had the wanderlust.....and thankfully, a great wife who likes to travel and get outdoors.

May have to think about flipping that mat!

Don't flip the welcome mat, just the ones on the steps. We were pricing new ones this week. Hope we get similar use to yours. Well done!

Safe travels. Pat

John, to,you and others who have helped us along the way, it has been a fan learning curve. Seems we have been using Alumalina as a start or stop point on our journeys. We'll see you again next March.
