THE List

I have been trying to find a thread that specifically discusses this, but haven't found it yet, so here goes:

I am planning to finish a complete shell off restoration of my Overlander this summer. Having an old trailer, I am not only repairing things, but replacing things, and each area- i. e. electrical, tankage, frame, etc., I can research separately.

What I'm looking for is a basic List on what is necessary to go camping.

Brake controller. Some type of anti-sway hitch. Jacks & blocks? Generator? Extension cord/s? Slinky hose/s? Bucket, sponge & soap? These are the things that seem obvious but you see, I've never done this before...

Actually you don't NEED much. AS you travel along, you'll come up with things that you'd like to have, and there is usually a Wal-Mart fairly close by. Just get good at list making. We spend a lot of nights in their parking lots, and usually do a fair amount of shopping, on arrival or prior to up stake'n.

When we started out we bought what we needed as we went along and have dumped a lot items we thought we could not live with out. Everybody is different but after 5 -10 trips you will have it down to a science. The one thing I did not even think about was a set of chains until we were caught in a early snow last fall in Montana. Have Fun!
