Thanksgiving Camping - Texas Style

The holiday weekend has been beautiful camping weather ... highs in the mid to upper 70's, lows in the 60's ... but late this afternoon that changed. So we're stuck indoors enjoying the sound of the soft rain falling on the Airstream. So I thought I would share some photos of our holiday camping trip ... from the point of departure ... to currently being snuggled in the Airstream.

Great! Braver than me.....I watched the weather and stayed tucked in. Floods and ice were the alternative. Be at Blanco.

We also are stuck at the apt. Decided the flash flood watches on Northeast Texas and low 40s temps would have made for some miserable camping. We plan on dropping in on the HOTC folks at Cleburne weekend after next.

A Trip to BUC-EE's!

And to finish off the evening - a trip to BUC-EE's for some gooooood food ... chicken strips, reuben sandwich, potato salad, cake balls, banana pudding ... yum!

Unfortunately, this evening has gotten the coldest since last winter ... now down to 45 degrees ... definitely feeling the effects of a strong cold front. But it's nice all tucked safely and warmly in the Airstream.

good dining at Bucees

I hadn't heard that they had such good food. May have to drive over to Terrell to see what all the fuss is about.

Good Times Remembered!

Hi Frank and Mike!
Good to see you chaps are out and enjoying our unusual Texas Thanksgiving weather!
We met you in Johnson City earlier this year when we took out Classic MH out for a sprint. Are you going to be at Blanco SP as we'd certainly like to catch-up with you'all again?

Thanks for sharing your Thanksgiving adventure. Camping in the rain can actually be very relaxing. The sound of the rain on the trailer is awesome. Gotta love Buc-ees.

We're right down I-35 from you guys in Temple. Our '71 Sovereign is actually in our workshop in Salado. You guys will have to come see our project sometime.
