Looking for recommendations for Rv Parks in the Fredericksburg area. Will be headed to that area for the new years weekend. Much appreciated.

We were at the Texas Highland Lakes Christmas Rally in December that was held at the Fredericksburg RV Park. It is a nice park and convenient to town.

The Buckhorn Lake RV Resort on I-10 near Kerville is one of the finest in the area. It is a few miles from Fredericksburg but it is such a nice place, it is worth considering.

There are two parks right in the city and several more nearby. - Fredericksburg RV Park on Highway Street is very convenient to downtown. We had a rally there 3 weeks ago. Nice folks in the office and the coffee pot is always on. Paved pads and WiFi. This is the nicest of the parks in town.
- At the southern edge of town is Oakwood RV Park. Gravel pads, but right on TX 16 so that it is convenient to anywhere in town or to Kerrville, about 16 miles south.
- Hill Country RV Park is just east of the city on US 290. Sites are close and, I think, gravel. This is the only one of these parks that I have not used.
- Fredericksburg KOA is about 5 miles east of the city on US 290. Convenient to the LBJ Ranch and birthplace in Johnson City.
Hi, fellow AirSafe hitch users, Marvin and Annie.
Fredericksburg is great for German food. It gets super crowded on weekends and during the Xmas rush, but it is quiet on week days.

Great park, but very pricey if you are not there with a rally. Also, well out of the city on I-10.
There are lots of nice parks in Kerrville, but they are pretty full with Winter Texans right now.

We love staying at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park in Fredericksburg. It's lovely with a stream flowing through and a golf course.

The KOA east of town is just a few miles down the road from Luckenbach Texas where as the song says
"Let's go to Luckenbach, Texas
With Waylon and Willie and the boys
This successful life we're livin' got us feudin'
Like the Hatfield and McCoys
Between Hank Williams' pain songs and
Newberry's train songs and Blue Eyes Cryin' in the Rain
Out in Luckenbach, Texas ain't nobody feelin' no pain"

Just spent a weekend at Lady Bird Johnson municipal park. $25.00 for full hookups. Be sure to ask for a paved site. The park is off the highway and relatively quiet despite the occasional small plane departure or arrival. Try the airport restaurant for lunch with the "Fly In" lunch bunch. We love Fredericksburg this time of year. Try the Herb Farm for dinner! Have fun!

We also spent a recent weekend at Lady Bird Municipal Park ... It was nice and convenient to town, but I'm honestly more of a state park guy. There are no fire rings at Lady Bird, and our site was essentially on the edge of the outfield of the adjacent softball field. Not a whole lot of privacy, to say the least. We agreed that it would be a nice place to stay for a night whilst passing through, but I wouldn't want to spend multiple nights there ... it's more "parking" than "camping."

Kerrville-Schreiner park is about 1/2 hour away and gives you Kerrville as well as F'burg to explore. If you like to see deer, that park is loaded with them. That was a state park in the past, but is now run by the City of Kerrville with no real changes to the operation.
Pedernales Falls SP and Blanco SP are within about an hour.

Not surprising since the Xmas lights are still up and a lot of folks have vacation right now.Don't miss the Bush Museum of WW II while you are there.

Quick clarification ...
It's not the "Bush Museum of WWII," but rather the National Museum of the Pacific War (formerly known as the Nimitz Museum, which is now but one part of the facility). It's one of the top WWII museums to be found anywhere -- well worth your time. The George H.W. Bush Library is in College Station, TX, a couple hours east of Fredericksburg.

You can't miss it. It's the only place you'll see a submarine in the Hill Country.
