I've ridden Grand Mesa countless times on 2 wheels. There's a nice RV park in Cedaredge where I've tent camped a couple of times and also several NF campgrounds up on the mesa. Ward's Lake campground was a good experience with the exception of the skeeters- but it was very pretty and cool up there above 10k elevation.
If you haven't taken Utah hwy 128 from I-70 at Cisco, Utah (near the Ut/Co state line) down to Moab you must make that drive sometime. I believe there are several camping areas along 128 but all would likely be dry/ primitive.
So, what about (I believe) Colorado 14, along the Poudre River? lol God, I love Colorado in the summer!
