Suggestions for Memorial Weekend camping in FL?

My wife and I didn't expect to camp this weekend and so we didnt' make any reservations. All the state parks are booked (reserveamerica.com). Anybody have any suggestions on a spot w hookups anywhere in FL w/ fun stuff to do nearby?

BTW everyone was so helpful with my last post for advice "recommend great spot in SW GA or ATL?". Thanks in advance!!

Check Corps of Engineer campgrounds. Some of them operate on a first come, first served system. There is usually a nice lake nearby. I use COE camps in NC. Have a great holiday.

We stay at Kathryn Abbey Hanna City Park in Jacksonville. It is a very large, heavily wooded park. You might not see any neighbors during the week.

The ocean beaches are a bike ride or short drive, across the park road and up the dunes to the ocean.

The park is a popular place for bikes.

We don't sight-see when in Jacksonville, so don't know about things to do if the beach isn't for you.

That park looks awesome! I love to bike on and off road. My wife enjoys the road biking a little more. I don't know if we can hoof it that far this weekend but I'm definitely putting that place on my "to do soon list". Thanks again!
