Suggestions 4 Travel Routes Las Vegas to Clarksdale AZ

I am a newbie with 25FB. Am looking for suggestions for easiest routing to Clarksdale, Arizona. Prefer not to take 89A thru Jerome. I figured. I would come down 95 to I-40 to I-17 (making it the easiest route). I looked at routes through Prescott or Wickenburg and connecting up to I-17 N for a bit. Any suggestions?

The road to Jerome is fun to drive in my wife's Mini, but I would never make the trip towing th Airstream. I am not a big fan of Interstates and would suggest this alternate route.

Get off I-40 at Ash Fork and take 89 south towards Prescott.
Then take 89a like you were going to Jerome, but do not make the turn and off and the road becomes Fain Road.
Then turn onto 69 and take that to 169 which will take you to I-17.
A couple of exits and you can take 260 to Cottonwood and Clarksdale.

BTW, you will be driving right by my house on 69...
