I tried the short storage but we couldn’t see what was in those either so I found “clear” short storage containers in all different sizes at Target. They are in the houseware area with the silverware holders. They have worked very well and no wasted space in back or front of the overheads. They are probably only 2-3” tall and come in all different sizes. I put 2 in each cabinet to add some additional organization. Hope this helps.

I don't have clothes in the overhead. I have hangers in the wardrobe, and socks etc. in those nylon zipper bags used for packing. They go in drawers. Then baskets for 'stuff' like the coffee maker, toaster, snacks. I found these at Lowe's.
LoLoHo recommended the plastic snap lid food storage containers. Kinda like Tupperware with four snap sides on the lid.

Look up "foldable storage bins" on Amazon come in multiple sizes and you can efficiently fill the space for clothes storage.

I store my veggies in a repurposed mesh metal CD case. I store my canned goods in a metal mesh desk top file basket. It is amazing what these can hold.

Towel Stuffing
I organize the cabinets however I want and then when we are on the road I take bath towels and stuff them to keep everything in its place.and it keeps things from breaking. I also towel stuff the refrigerator to keep everything in place. I’ve been doing this the last five years and it’s worked perfectly. So when we get to our destination it takes 2 minutes to pull out, fold and put away. Easy smezzy 🤙👌

We have had some rubbing on the aluminum that has left a mark. Be careful on that.
Let me know if you guys wanna see pictures of anything. We full time and would love to share if it would help you.

We have had good luck using plastic containers from the same mfg. which supplies the large AS OEM bins under the bed etc.:
https://www.sterilite.com/
https://www.sterilite.com/allproducts.html
In particular the smaller containers are very handy for mix-and-match filling of the overhead upper cabs, with the curved rear "walls." Some sizes come with attached lids ["flip top"], so the lids don't end up just lying around loose. Very handy for the "order" quotient IMO. Our favorite size:
https://www.sterilite.com/SelectProd...=249§ion=1
Box of 6 for $19! https://www.amazon.com/Sterilite-180...2197898&sr=8-1
You can't afford not to get a box or two!
Multiples of this smaller size can also be stacked inside the larger Sterilite boxes already under the bed, so that tools, plumbing and electrical supplies can all be kept separate, but readily accessible by pulling out one larger container. They are translucent plastic, so you can see fairly well what is inside.
Good luck,
Peter

Storage space in an Airstream...a bit of an oxymoron, and as such the only plastic containers we use are reserved for perishables.
For anything else they just take up too much of the oxymoron space.
As noted in a previous post...I use the 'push & stuff' method. (do I care that my clothes are a bit frumpy?<>I HAVE an AIRSTREAM}
The DW uses the 'fold, insert in a bag' and then push & stuff method, distaff frumpy.
('cept when she is in the show ring) 👍
