Ditto, though our spare home keys are in the control of a neighbor.

I have 3 complete sets. One stays in the tow vehicle. One stays inside the trailer. One stays home.

I have several extra entry door keys in the vehicles and at home. One door key stays on both, my and wife's, key rings that we carry every day. There's one door key by the door that has a foam float attached to the ring, great for going to the pool or lake and hard to misplace. If we have friends with us, we give them one while we are together. (now we have spare door keys in NH and SC )

Spare Keys While Traveling

One of my friends keeps his spare key in a ziplock bag in his stinky slinky. To each his own, but each should have a spare key.

I do the same and it works like a charm. The hardest part is remembering the code.

I made 3 sets- one for the lock box, one with a trusted person and one with me.

Trailer keys, including storage, water, and hitch lock are on a separate ring with a long bright lanyard. Spare truck, trailer and house keys are locked in the truck glovebox. A single spare door-only key is hidden on the truck exterior so I can always get to all spare keys. A lockbox on the house is available for a neighbor if i need to send one in, after I use my smartphone to turn off the alarm system. BTW, I always turn off the water at the house, and the water heater, before pulling away from the house.

Three complete sets of Airstream keys. One set in my pocket on a lanyard connected to a belt loop, one set in my wife's purse and one set in the tow vehicle. I also have a single "truck-door-only" key in a hidden location outside the Airstream and each have a truck FOB connected to our Airstream keys. This configuration makes it difficult for us to lock ourselves out of either the truck or the Airstream. We leave all our other keys at home. Our children have spare keys for the house and occasionally use our second car to keep it running while we are gone for months. We have a keypad access garage door. I've had the Airstream door lock when slamming it which prompted us to devise this multi-key arrangement.

I always keep a set in the truck. When we're out I keep a set on me of course and in addition to that I have a set in a lock box on the chain that I keep my tanks locked up with in my propane tank compartment.

Sometimes an event takes place that stays with you for the rest of your life - that happened to me back in 1961 when I had my first car. I parked in a parking lot where they held my keys in case they had to move my car. I had worked late one Friday and when I went to retrieve the car, the attendant's booth was closed - I could see my keys hanging on a hook through the window. I had to take a bus home to get my 2nd key and bus back to pick up my car. From that time on I always carried a 2nd key with me.

So, I have a set of truck keys in the AS and a set of AS keys in the truck PLUS the full set of both in my pants pocket as well as a door only key for truck & AS in my pocket. It may be overkill, but once bitten, twice shy.

My Ford has a key pad on the drivers door. I'm able to lock a set of truck and trailer keys in the truck and access by entering my code.
I keep a set of trailer keys in the truck at all times.

I have a set attached to a spot under the truck with a carabiner wrapped in electrical tape. The color matches the undercarriage. You have to know where it is to find it. A locksmith gave a recommendation to tape a set to the back of the tag using duct tape.

It's just a darn good thing I wear an ID badge at work, so I can check to see who I am some mornings...

More on subject:

I keep a spare set of Airstream keys in a combination-locked lock-box fastened firmly to a structural part of the trailer. Both door keys are in there.
