Southern Cali to Oregon

We're heading to Oregon for Christmas. Anyone have a suggestion for a late night stay near Stockton?

Our neighbors recently stayed at Flag City RV park in Lodi. Said it was clean and safe and easy access to I5. Truck stops close by for fuel as well. Have a good trip.

Sac-West in Sacramento has been good for an overnight. Like the food truck they have on site and a nice area to exercise the dog.

How deep into Oregon are you going ?

You might want to consider a stop in the Redding area because it’s about 190 miles from Lodi .

From Redding it’s another 140 miles to the border and about 160 miles to Medford area .

Also be aware of the weather conditions at the time of your travel to and from Redding and Medford .
If it snows and I-5 is open you’ll be required to carry chains and if you have to chain up you might consider staying put until chains are not required .
You will be stopped at Mountian Gate just 10 miles north of Redding , Yreka and Ashland for chain inspection . Also these are the points I-5 gets closed at and when it does traffic will back up as far as 15 miles .

If you are going to Portland you might want to make a stop at Canyonville at 7 Feathers Casino RV Park .
It’s a 6 hour run from Redding in good weather .

Have a Great trip and Merry Christmas . Glen & Jane

BTW we host Airstreams . Just look us up in the WBCCI directory .

Here’s a few pic’s .
First 2 At Flag City RV Park at Lodi .
Second 2 at 7 Feathers in Canyonville, OR.

BTW call 800-427-ROAD (7623) for Cal road conditions enter the HWY #.

If You're heading for the coast from I-5 in Red Bluff on HWY 36 be sure to call it's under construction and has limited hours it's open .

Same goes for 299 out of Redding .

Be sure to make reservations for the RV Parks well in advance .
