Southeast Campgrounds

Looking for suggestions on good campgrounds in the southeastern US. Preferably southern Alabama, Georgia, and maybe even South Carolina. I've done quite a bit of camping throughout the state of Florida (my home state) and can offer quite a bit of info on Florida parks, but looking for some destinations for long weekends (3-4 days or so). For the most part Florida has a pretty nice state park system; I've been to most of the state parks here. As some of you know, It takes hours just to get up the peninsula of Florida which makes it difficult to venture too far when you only have a few days to work with.

Anyways, I prefer more of the "outdoorsy" types of parks rather than the fancy concrete pads. Boondocking wouldn't be out of the question, I just don't care for the "stack 'em in" type RV parks and prefer nature and some space along with peace and quiet. Any good suggestions?

If you're a WBCCI member, you might want to check the listings in the membership directory. The parks listed there give discounts for WBCCI Airstreamers!

If you are a WBCCI member, you might want to check out the Airstream park near Pensacola in McDavid, FL. Right on the river, it's a nice quiet park.
