Service facilities in/near RI

Anyone know of a good service/repair facility in or around the RI area for AS? Nothing major, just brake work, water heater, etc.
Called the one in Berkley MA (name withheld...) boy was their quote expensive...

Thanx, Bill

The PO of my trailer (from Woonsockett) had all their work done by the staff mechanics at Normandy Farms campground in Foxboro. They thought those guys walked on water.

Hi Chuck, I never thought about them...good to know. We have been there once or twice, not my kind of place, but certainly well run/managed.
Thanx for the info...

Bill , any GOOD RV shop can handle those type items , doesn't have to be Airstream . Maybe you could check with some SOB owners in your area to find out who is good, or not. Good luck , and post results

Exactly...many folks here started with SOB's years ago, I was hoping someone would have a recomendation in my area. I try to do most work myself, seems the older I get the lazier (busier?) I get...

well, I've never paid anyone to do anything on my camper, so I wouldn't know first hand...but the word on the street is that your typical, run of the mill SOB mechanics/shops don't like airstreams...the price goes way up, or they won't work on 'em, etc, etc...
I know the guys at NF are not that way. I think one of the techs grew up airstreaming...anyway, they're experienced and comfortable with them.

You don't have to be camping there at NF to get their service; I guess you can just call 'em up, and make an appointment.

(I had no RVing experience when I bought my A/S from the po's. we decided to do our purchase transaction at NF so that they could show me how to work everything...and PROVE to me that everything worked. Turns out, everything didn't work. so we towed it over to the shop, and had them fix it. It was during this whole process that the PO talked up how great they are..."if you ever need anything..call these guys, they're so awesome, yadda yaddd yadda...". you know. that sort of thing. )

Follow up

FWIW-I took the AS to Arlington Trailer in Warwick RI. They were every bit as good as their reputation. They did all I asked, and did nothing that didn't need fixin'. All at a reasonable price with friendly service. Arlington has been in the RI area for 50+ years. They were an AS dealer years ago-had lots of cool old pix on the wall...if you ever need service in the RI area don't hesitate to look them up.

If you don't mind taking a short run down I-84 in CT, we bought our AS from these folks and know many other happy customers who have bought from them. There head AS mechanic is awsome and I highly recommend them!

Major's RV in Bourne, MA

If you're up to going toward Cape Cod, look up Dave Major at Major's RV (www.majorsrv.com). They don't sell RV's, they only service them, and they say they're New England's largest parts and accessories dealer- I don't know but they are big and have at least 8 service bays.

They've been in business for many years, and are located just a mile south of the Bourne Bridge on Rt 28. Dave has owned an Airstream, knows the in's and out's of them, and he and his staff do very good work, helping me out many times. Always very fair and honest, and seem to have good turnaround times for the work.
