Salem to Boise

We will be leaving the upcoming Salem Rally and heading to Boise via hiway 84. Can anyone suggest an RV park at or near a halfway point?
Thanks!
Ron

We're going to stay at LaGrande, OR on the way to Salem. Place called La Grande Rendezvous RV Resort that we found on RVParkReviews.

We stayed once at http://www.grandehotsprings.com/

and would go there again. Ask for a site with a tree if a little shade is important.

We drove through Boardman Marina RV Park and are planning to stay there someday. Lots of trees and right on the Columbia River.

My vote is for Boardman Marine park. At least take the 15 minutes to look at it on the way. Trees, grass, lots of room.

Emigrant Springs is pretty close to half way, it it’s in a draw with I-84 so it is likely pretty loud. Wildhorse Casino has an RV lot just before you ascend the Blues.

Pendleton has a good brew pub if you end up in the area, The Prodigal Son.

La Grande is a nice town too, as is Baker City.

We haven’t camped at any of the spots along I-84 yet, but have been looking at them to cut our drive to Wallowa Lake down so we can get there early enough to enjoy our first day.

Baker City has a couple of RV parks, nothing special but the heritage museum has a section on Wally Byam as he was born there. Another place along the route is Pendleton which is the home of the Roundup (rodeo) and the world famous Pendleton Wool Mill. I do not know about RV parks there as we have always parked in the city park as part of the Pendleton Roundup National Rally.

You could try the RV campground at the Wildhorse Casino in Pendleton. That should be right at the halfway point. Close to I84. Easy to get fuel. Drawbacks are no shade and location of sewer.
If you don't mind going a little out of your way, the Charbonneau COE in Burbank WA. Full hookup, shady, and $20 a night.

We saw a lot of Airstreams heading south on 97 in Oregon toward Sisters and then Salem? We were on our way back to Portland from south of Bend.

So we survived the rally and a good time was had by all. We took the recommendation for Boardman Marina RV. We arrived earlier and are staying two nights. This place is fantastic! Clean and spacious sights with lawn, trees and river views!! Be sure to put this one on your list!
Thanks to everyone for your help!

Thanks for the review, I’ve been looking for a stop over for our trip to Wallowa Lake next month. Getting our 3 year old out of the house early is challenging sometimes, so my thoughts are to go a day early so that on our day of arrival at Wallowa we can be there early enough to do some activities. Sounds like this campground would serve that purpose nicely.

The KOA in Pendleton is good for a overnight. You probably should make a reservation if you wish to stay there. We had to back in but stayed hooked up.
