There are no bargains in the area except Cheatham Annex Campground (military), but these are probably the best alternatives:

Kings Creek RV Campground
Carter’s Cove Campground
Williamsburg Campground
Anvil Campground
American Heritage RV Park

Stayed there last year while visiting Williamsburg and Yorktown. It is very nice and much lower cost than commercial campgrounds on the Williamsburg side of the river. There is a ferry that takes you across that is about 10 minutes from the campground.

We stayed at Machicomoco, a very nice state park across the river to the north.
Use cash to buy the card at the local Hayes laundromat - we think our card may have been hacked.

we stayed at American Heritage last month. Its fairly nice but be warned that the campground seems to have a lot of full time residents
