RV Park Options: Houston Texas
I'm up in Minnesota and plan to take my 21' Globetrotter as my base camp while working in Houston. I'm looking for a secure, clean and quiet campground.
The one I've found is called South Main RV Park - it's got pretty good reviews.
Any other suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you,
Ken Tuvman

I recommend Lakeview also (I'm there now, in fact). It's not cheap, but it's the all-around best in town.

(Yeah I Know an old thread but topic came up in search)
I just visited Lakeview on South Main recently to reserve a spot for the future. Pretty booked up so I advise planning well in advance. Very nice management folks and nice facility. A bit of road noise and daytime construction or clearing to the east right now shielded by trees but you can hear backup beepers. so I would go for inner sites lakeside personally. No guarantees on space number but they will try to accommodate. Small but adequate dog "poop" areas, note no dogs on lakeside trail. Looks like good dog parks not too far away though.

When I was working there I stayed at East Lake RV on the north east end of town. Closer to the airport. Did a lot of flying in and out on weekends. It also was farther out from work, which provided tone down time.
East Lake and South Lake are both Quality RV Resorts. Lots of "workers" in both. I liked the paved spaces, outdoor kitchens, computer room with printers, and the gas fire pits. The airconditioned laundry room was kind of special. The gated RV park was also nice but a lot of people came in behind others. Our crane operator stayed in South Lake and liked it.
There is wind in Houston all the time. You might want to leave the awning in.
PS.....there is traffic in Houston at 3am.
