Does anyone know of potential RV campgrounds in Florida where we could spend a good part of the winter?

Check the website for Travelers Rest Resort in Date City. We have spent the last 6 winters there and love it. Along with our many Canadian neighbors. But they might be full this year already.

I live in Florida. What's your criteria? Looking for a Resort or rustic? Florida campgrounds fill up quick in the winter. 20 years go I could book at a moments notice. Now I have a hard time finding a spot for a quick weekend get-a-way.

We usually head to the Carolina's during the Winter.

I ain't telling. Y'all come down here making it difficult for me to get reservations. So I should make it worse?

You have to be more specific in area and level of park as said earlier.

Ummmmm, I'd imagine there is probably a few spots that have opened up in the past few hours......if you don't mind a waterfront view and some cleaning up to do.

Cheers

That is a good one Tony. What a nice way to start the day with a good laugh.

I would agree that most of the “normal Florida” campgrounds are probably booked for this winter. Maybe get on a wait list for some of these. You will be able to find open sites in the Ocala NF Campgrounds. Even better if you don’t need hookups.

Good Luck, Dan

I spent about six months at the Hide A Way RV park in Ruskin Florida. It is a 55 plus rv park that is mostly "seasonals". They weren't sure how to handle someone still working. They flew the Canadian flag along with the US flag.
