RV Camping near Nashville

I am planning a trip to Nashville, TN next May and I am looking for good RV camping sites close enough to drive into the city to spend the day.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

If you’re not looking for fancy, we ended up at the fairgrounds just south of downtown. I think it’s 2 miles? Full hookups and cheap.

We don’t spend a lot of time at camp grounds so we just look for safe and cheap.

My personal favorite is Harper River Bridge, a COE campground about 45 minutes west of Nashville.

Seven Points is a nice COE campground on Percy Priest Lake. Particularly convenient to the Hermitage. Click image for larger version

I would second Seven Points. They take reservations starting six months out - fills up fast, just a FYI.

Two good ones that we have stayed at several times are Cedars of Lebanon State Park (a fair ways away) and Anderson Campground (COE on Percy Priest Lake). Both will be busy that time of year so look to book well ahead of time.
