Recommendations for camping in OKC?

I was just informed today that starting next Monday for a few weeks, I will need to be working at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City. I am considering calling the Base, and seeing what they have available at the FamCamp. However are there any other forum recommendations?

I have family in Oklahoma City, so I'm kind of familiar, but I haven't camped in the area; on the occasions when I'm there, I stay with family.

FamCamps are only open to active or retired military (including National Guard) and DoD civil service. Tinker has one, with 39 sites, but only 19 of them have electric and water hookups.

Midwest City, the area around Tinker, is kind of sparse for RV campgrounds. You've got a KOA to the east, on Choctaw Road, and Roadrunner RV park to the west, near I-35. I haven't stayed at either of them, though. Your best bet might be Central State Park at Lake Arcadia in Edmond, a straight shot to the north of Tinker.

We've camped in two different places that we found to be nice:

Twin Fountains RV Park (I like this place because it has a storm shelter):
Welcome

Arcadia Lake (I like this place for a quiet country setting but yet very near the expressway for an easy commute)
Arcadia Park

hi from AZ. . . we stayed at the East side KOA and it was not much. Unlevelable spots (ours at least) & lots of mud. Regards, Craig
