Looking for best recommendation for a South Carolina State Park or nice campground in close proximity to USMC base at Paris Island in November.

Try Edisto Beach, which is just north of Paris Island and it is right on the ocean. Campsites are 50 yards from the water. One of the best beaches for collecting sharks teeth.

Hunting Island is close to Beaufort & its beautiful. Not sure I'd it is open yet after last year's storm damage. Note this is not Huntington Beach SP which is close to Myrtle Beach. I live by Edisto State Park & it is about an hour drive from Paris Island.

Hopefully you mean collecting shark's teeth on the beach and not in one's tender hide!

Anyway, for 369goose, there is a Military Family Camp at Parris Island, which is open to active military, national guard, retired military, military reserve, and guests of graduating marines.

I have stayed at the PI family park a couple of times. Hard to be beat the convenience, location and price. Right on the water with great views. They also have a nice marina and anchorage. Spent a week there in 95 waiting out a storm while transiting the ICW.
