Ditto Beartooth Highway...great way to enter Yellowstone, and also leads to some terrific NF Camping (Hunters Peak, for one). Beartooth was no problem for our 25'
last year, but the driver doesn't get to enjoy the scenery much :-)

Be flexible -you are already reserved when and where it will be tough to find a place but we found many good places on our last road trip that weren't really featured anywhere.

Sometimes you'll see something you want to explore -other times that which you came to explore is not as exciting as you thought it would be. High points may not be anything you even planned on. Be able to stay or move on as necessary.

Mechanical and weather interuptions may cause a change of plans, but offer something great as well. A flat tire situation forced us to stay in Flaming Gorge, Utah -we hadn't even planned on stopping and it was beautiful and we stayed a few extra days once the tire was replaced.

Ask a local. Many can and will offer suggestions for a place to stay, something to see or a favorite restaurant that will be your favorite as well. We listen carefully and ask questions, but more often than not we've been given really good information.

Keep your sense of adventure. Once you lose the excitment of moving to a new place to visit, or when it becomes drudgery it is time to stay put for a while or get on home. There will be time for more adventure when you are ready for it.

We recommend buying bug jackets. They provide better coverage with elastics at the hips and wrists and a full head net. Also, have a hat with a brim to keep the net away from the face.
Safe travels
