Prentiss,Mississippi

Headed over there to see some relatives.Are there any great resort campgrounds in the MS area we can go to.We are staying in Prentiss for a few days and then headed to a nice state park if we can find one.Thanks all.

Tina's relatives are from the McComb area and often stay in the state parks around there. A little more down the road for you past Prentiss. They stayed in a small state park outside Wesson, Ms a few weeks back and said it was great. I can get you the name if you want. Thanks.If we head that way I will.I am looking around at some area right now trying to figure out where we want to go.Maybe hit a really cool historical area and tour something like that.

Natchez is a beautiful small town, good food, southern charm and lots of antibellium homes that should be open for tours. Not too far away is Vicksburg, same as above - great Civil War park and display of a river monitor warship. Both have from what I have seen online good campgrounds but I have not been to them.

We stayed in Vadilia across the river from Natchez two weeks ago. Clean campground right on the MS River but kinda pricey at $32/Night. Pul B Johnson State Park is just south of Hattiesburg and we always like it. I believe there is camping at Lake Jess Davis acouple of miles south of Prentis. The best bet is find the web site for the MDWFP (mississippi dept of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks) and pick one.
