Portable printer for iPad

Bought an HP office jet 150 portable printer with Bluetooth to use with an iPad. Office Depot guy said it would work. After communicating with an HP techie in India that confirmed that it would not work, I'm asking if anyone knows of a portable printer that WILL work with an iPad or iPhone with iOS 9.2. Thanks in advance.

I'm familiar with AirPrint and use it at home. I'm looking for a battery powered printer with Bluetooth that will work with iPads with iOS 9.2. The HP office jet 150 only works with MacBooks.

I would think that this sort of printer would be a "must have" for RV'ers on the road.

Hi, I can't answer your question, but I bought the HP 100 from Amazon; Says it will work from several items. I use a cable to print from my Net Book even though they recommend using it wirelessly.

Portable wireless printer/copier

I am using a HP ENVY 5530 with great success with my mini I pad, I pad, laptop.
It works directly or through your home wireless router.

I can let you know what I'm using when I get back home next week. It may be the 5530 mentioned in jimstream's post above. It will work between your devices acting as it's own wi-fi or will connect to an outside wi-fi signal. So, if there is no wi-fi available it's no problem. It is not battery operated but I have used other printers, in other rigs, in an emergency, by using a small portable inverter. I'll try to remember to post if it is NOT the 5530. I paid about $50 for it.

Canon PIXMA 922

How "portable" are you speaking? I wirelessly print to my Canon printer. It's not a mini unit BUT it takes commands from mi iPhone, iPad, and MacBook. Looking for small and new, visit a Apple Store (or dealer). Last time I looked (November) they had stuff to support all of their product. Also consult Cnet.com to research other printers that may work for you.

The Canon iP100 series works well w/ my iPad using Blutooth. It's small, relatively lightweight, inexpensive

Check this one out:
CANON PIXMA iP110 Wireless Mobile Printer With Airprint

I have a PIXMA iP100, to which I added the optional Bluetooth receiver and battery. It's my RV printer, taking very little space and operating on battery when necessary. The iP110 model is its successor and is apparently configured for AirPrint.

Portable printer for iPad

If your printer is wifi compatable you can activate the hot spot on your phone or if your phone doesn't have one you can purchase a hot spot.
Most wireless printers are hot spot (wifi) friendly.
I use my Interstate as a mobile office.
Good luck

Wireless printer

I use an Epson XP 410 for printing from my iPhone and iPad. I've had excellent phone support from Epson.

I have 4 wireless printers on my home wi-fi. The all work fine with an iPad, iPhone and MacPro. I'm looking for a Bluetooth battery powered printer that I can put in my RV and use with my iPad while on the road. I want to print coupons, google maps and reservationson the go.

We have used the HP OfficeJet 100 Mobile Printer for a couple years while on our travels. Great little printer with rechargeable batteries and is Bluetooth.

AirPrint and WiFi are the two ways I've been able to connect and print wirelessly. I just looked at your printer's specs. No WiFi; just Bluetooth 2 (old standard) and USB. An iPad HAS Bluetooth (Bluetooth 4, I believe) so, I would expect that AFTER PAIRING, you should be able to send print jobs over Bluetooth. What happens when you "pair" the printer to your iPad?

The "Support" you received (in broken English I suspect) doesn't surprise me. VERY few companies today do a really good job of supporting the customer once the company has your money.

We will test the Officejet 100 with our iPad again, since we have not done so since updating to the latest iOS. I will let you know whether or not it works. Previously we have had no problems.

Sorry, my mistake. Our HP OJ100 will NOT work via Bluetooth with the iPad with iOS 9.2. The printer is not compatible. If we run across one that is , we'll let you know.

Looks like you'll have to settle on a portable printer that you will use via wifi. Can you set up a hotspot in your trailer so that you have wifi available?
