Pay as you go TV & Winegard

Can anyone comment on using Winegard's Satellite antenna/receiver and Dish network's Pay as you go plan?

Works fine. They bill monthly. Don't pay the bill and you are turned off until you call them and reactivate. Only real pain is getting local stations. If you want that off of the sat RX then you call them, give them an address where you are and in a few minutes you should have the local networks. But it sometimes takes a couple of calls to get it to work.

I had DirecTV at home but switched that over to DISH. Rather than the $80 dollars at home plus the $50 or so for the AS when using the DISH system the AS box is $7 per month. Only big difference that I can see between DISH and DirecTV is that Direct has the NFL network. So if that is something you need not much choice.

We have Dish Network at home and a Tailgater for the Airstream. $7/month when we activate it. Works great with no issues. We use the 211Z receiver purchased as a package with the Tailgater. Don't know about the Winegard.

We have Dish at home and take the box with us when we go to Florida for the winter. We still pay our normal bill but change our service address to where we are so we get local network TV like cbs nbc abc. We use a kingdome V Qube 1000 antenna. If the tailgater would have been available when I purchased I would have gone that way as it automatically sets us. The V Qube can see two sats 110 and 119 and automatic switch between the two.

I use the Wineguard. Expensive, approximately $70 a month, but I wanted sports. You do have to call to change your zipped for local channels.

The plus side? I am headed to Mexico next week and it WILL work in Mexico!!!!
So I will get to watch the playoffs. Color me happy!

Does the Tailgater with the 211Z receiver deliver HD? I hate to watch SD now.

I have direct Tv @ home and purchased Winegard tailgater pkg. 3 years ago for mth. long trips out of Wisky in February.Worked fine once u figure it out, but a hassle when moving daily or often. Re: local channels...we've gone thru paperwork and phone calls and will work but networks are actually Ny or Cal.(la). The next season we just used out regular mounted antenna to pull in local channels, which was kinda fun except in remote spot like Pipe Organ NP. As I recall the channels were not in HD with our dish network tv set up.
BTW, my tailgator set up now sits in my garage 4 sale since we now just stream from smart phones anything important(big ten basketball :- )
