Arrow Pawnee Campground, Brainard Lake Rec. Area, CO

We took the Airstream to Pawnee Campground, in Brainard Lake Recreational Area, and had a wonderful time fly fishing, watching wildlife, and hiking.

Check out or latest post about our Glamping-Adventure. We have posted a lot of beautiful pictures—even one of a bear!

I just want to say that I subscribe to your blog and just love it.

And this entry is amazing for anyone who likes bears. Check out their footage on the motion camera on this entry of the blog.

Thanks again for doing your blog.

Thanks a lot for your kind words.
The bear is awesome. What a surprise it was to see that on the memory card the next morning! He was just trucking through the site.
Happy adventures everyone!
Sara

Love the photos! That area brings back a lot of great memories! I've been camping, hiking & fishing in that area since 1968. Never seen a bear there. Thanks for posting!!!

We spent July 4, 1976 backpacking in this area. A special place with great memories! I would love to be there now.....Austin 101 today!

Great photos! We just visited this campground on the way back from a few days at Rocky Mtn. National Park. It has some of the best looking private, scenic campsites ever - even better than RMNP!

Uncle Boo, I agree. And, less traffic and congestion than RMNP. Once you have your spot picked out, and set up, you can walk to all the trail heads.
The wooded sites are very secluded. I struggle with wanting seclusion or a view. This past trip we had a double site, and park at an angle. That gave us all the privacy we needed.
Happy Adventures to you!

Thumbs up

I concur with all! This is one wonderful spot. These gals have a wonderful blog that I too subscribe to, and their reports are just the best...as well as having wonderful photography. We have camped at several secluded sites at Pawnee, and they are wonderful and cozy..but if you want to get full use of your solar..I think the open ones are the ticket.
