Passing through Memphis

We are going west at the end of the month. We will be taking I-40 through Tennessee and staying at Tom Sawyers RV Park for a night. Is I-40 through Memphis an OK route, or is looping around I-240 or maybe 385 better?

For us, going I40 thru Memphis has always been ok. Its not near the traffic as going thru Oklahoma City. We go both ways, east going and back home going west.
