I had our floor replaced at JC two years ago. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was expensive, but we were glad to have the floor fixed.

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f456...ter-59831.html

What I never found out, though, was what did the seal around bottom seam look like that would have allowed the water to intrude and cause such damage. If you have a chance, and are staying in the local area, visit the repair job frequently. Ask questions about why things happpened. Take pictures. Report back. Many of us would like to learn about what things we should look for.

We are staying for a couple days, then have to leave it.. Will do my best to get in there as much as possible

Mine is warranty, but can you give us an idea what a floor replacement will cost in the future?
Was it a full shell off floor replacement btw?

All furniture has to be removed from the trailer. All of the lower aluminum panels in the interior have to be removed. Then the floor is cut out. and new wood put in. I think ours required 52 labor hours. The trailer was in the repair bay for 6 days. They can tell you what the current labor rate is currently and you can do the math. Additionally, we had to buy new floor covering since we had carpet....much of it stained and damaged, especially the portions hidden under the furniture with no chance to dry out. We replaced with vinyl.

And...no, it was not a complete floor replacement. Just bad spots. I would guess about 1/4 to less than 1/3 of the floor.

It's difficult Gene, but we can try.

It's hard to believe just how different the two sides of the factory are.

I'm just happy I was able to repair all our leaks before they did any serious damage.

The rest of our substantial warranty list was taken care of right here on the pad with parts supplied by JC. (no dealer in NYS)

It's unfortunate that the concerns you listed were not taken care of before the coach left the Factory or at the dealer PDI.

Hope all goes well for you Andrew, post progress and take pic's.

Relax. My 2010 27FB Flying Cloud is doing rather well, thank-you.

I don't know if this is an apro pos analogy, but I'm going to spew it anyways. Today I was talking to one of the original DC-10 pilots. Now, that is one airplane that got off to a rough start. After the passengers started falling through the cabin floors, most would run for the next departure gate whenever a DC-10 pulled up. Yet, he put in thousands of hours on the same a/c without incident. He claims "Vigilance and a good rapport with maintenance always saw me through."

So....am being vigilant, doing everything I can about maintenance, and unless the FAN tells me otherwise, am not looking down!

Met with our mechanic Bill, great guy!
Went through our list and they are now going to look over things...

He isn't sure the floor is a rot problem, might be normal 'spring'. They are going to look at it first of course.

You guys think a 1/4 inch movement to the floor is normal when walking? If so let me know, this is out first trailer so we are clueless...

Maybe it is me then...
Just seeing over a 1/4 separation from the cupboard when walked on, and the squishy feels scare me....
I wonder how far apart the cross beams are each way...

Thanks eh!

Ours doesn't feel squishy or move a 1/4". Sounds suspicious to me. I hope it is okay for your sake. Bill was our tech several years ago and everything got done fine. You are in good hands.
