Dave, and Maggie and Tony.....we may take you up on the offer if we get that way. Maggie and Tony, good to hear from you again.

The rain has finally let up here in Raleigh. The NC State Fairgrounds Campground is a decent place to stay if you are in The Triangle. Be here a few more days, then headed to South Carolina.

I hope you'll consider seeing the west coast. It's just not the same as (& I think better than) the east coast, although watch the seasons. The NW is ideal from around May thru Sept & otherwise can be coldish (although not like New England) & wet (drizzly, not so much heavy downpour), & Southern CA in the summer can be hot (as in >100).

My best to you on your journey.

We plan on spending most of our time west of the Mississippi. We enjoy boondocking and did quite a bit of it on our trips to Alaska, Newfoundland, and the Southwest. Our classic is more ideally set up for boondocking than our 25' FC. We are signed up for the Alburquerque Balloon Fest and a couple other rallies. We are really looking. We look forward to meeting folks off the beaten path. We want to get out and do as many day paddling trips as we can. We head west later this month. If you see us, honk....better yet stop by and say hi.

Looking for some ideas. We depart Ohio in late June. We will spend several weeks in Colorado. I'm looking for input on routes from Ohio to the Denver area, specifically Golden. Last choice is interstates. We have no real timeline so we can meander. So if you can share places to stay, sights to see, great kayaking and hiking along theta route....please send them. Thanks, John

Allow lots of time for the Oregon Coast. And enjoy our great state park system. Happy Trails!

Cheers,

Where in Ohio will you be staying? We've owned our AS for 3 years but we have a few weekend stops in Ohio that we enjoy.

What part of Ohio will you be departing from as you leave for Colorado? That will help with suggested, non-interstate travel routes.

We live in the Mansfield, Ohio area and have space and 30 amp service if you need a place to stop!

Been there and done that

And wish I still were! It's a wonderful life, amazing the wonderful and helpful people you meet along the way. While in Oregon spend some time in Bend - best part of the state, schedules are to be avoided, Interstates are for people with schedules! For your trip from Ohio I suggest US RT 36 thru Illinois and Missouri and Kansas. It parallels I-70 and I-80 yet bypasses the big cities. lots of neat small towns (some with free or low cost parks) and NO Corn Palaces! Take your time and enjoy the brew pubs and nice local food joints.

We are meeting some friends in Delaware Ohio and camping on their farm for two nights. We then have a quick stop at Jackson Center and then depart on June 23 or 24.

Missed Em, wel'll check out rt 36. Thanks.

If you choose to head north from Delaware, we are just an hour north off I-71.

If you want to hike and kayak check out the Hocking Hills area just outside of Logan, Ohio off state route 33 - about 1.5 hours southeast of Delaware, OH. A lot of great areas to see and explore - Hocking Hills State Park campground is decent but busy during the weekends this time of year.

We also like the Mohican State Park campground outside of Loudonville, OH. off state route 3. Hiking and kayaking options from their as well.

So happy for you to be on the trip of a lifetime. Sounds like your previous travels will have you well prepared.
Try to take in northern Michigan some time. Lots to see and do.
Route 36 sounds like a good route west. I like your traveling style.
Looking forward to following your traveling adventure.

Day 13, currently in Gettysgurg PA, spending a few days with my mom at Elizabethtown Masonic Village, then north to Rome PA to visit an old Baylor professor then off to Penn Wood Airstream Park. We will then spend about 5 or 6 days in Ohio. Decided to head south to Kentucky. Can't wait to try out my new hiking boots on the Bourbon Trail. Will spend about four days hiking that trail.....so if you don't here from us, don't worry. After that we head west. Likely do northern Arkansas and southern Missouri for a bit. ......more to follow....

Route 6 in Pennsylvania

Will be spending a couple days in Roma PA the heading west to Penn Wood Airstream Park.

Has anyone taken route 6?, looking for feedback taking our trailer. It's listed as a big motorcycle route, and that makes me think lots of tight curves...

Route 6

Cannot think of a better road in PA for beautiful views with an Airstream and no
time constraints. You will be going through some nice communities. Lots of history along that road. Enjoy!
