On the road to D.C

We will be doing a road trip in the next couple of weeks and will be traveling from Southcentral Kentucky and going to Washington DC....any one out there can recommend a stopping point? Or any must sees along the way?

I hope your journey is bringing you to the Cherry Blossom Rally. If so we will meet soon. I recommend you check out Roadside America - Guide to Uniquely Odd Tourist Attractions and stop at some of the sights listed on there. Must be a hundred between Kentucky and DC

Where are you parking in DC? Cherry Hill PArk is HIGHLY recommended - I stay there in the MH in warm weather when business takes me to DC. Short Metro Bus trip to the Green Line Metro Station, then 20 minutes to town.

I'll second this. I stayed there for two weeks one time and was pretty happy. It's kind of pricey compared to most campgrounds ($50/night or something a couple years ago), though, but it's all location, right?

There's another campground in Upper Marlboro that looked okay to me when I drove through it a couple years ago. However, I haven't stayed there so I don't really know.
