On the road again
We are preparing for yet another trip in the "TIN LIZZY". Our plans are for an early morning departure from Corinth, MS September 8, 2011, for a three week journey into the highways and byways. We will be going into north Alabama and traveling the Natchez Trace Parkway into Tennessee. We will bypass the Music City via the Saturn Parkway and Interstate 840 to Interstate 40. Who wants an Airstream that is 34 feet long in downtown Nashville traffic anyway. We will spend 4 or 5 nights in eastern middle Tennessee near Cookeville then on to Mountain City, Tennessee which is in the extreme eastern point of the state, near Boone, NC and Abingdon, VA. This is such beautiful country and has the climate of places much farther north because of the altitude. I am looking forward to seeing grandchildren there and I might get in a little trout fishing in the Watauga River while we are there.
O Thursday September 22, we are planning to start for Georgia for a week, and then we might come back home. It just depends.

Wishing you a safe journey. Hope you share your experiences along the way, and check in with some pictures too. We hope to make a journey next year to the south around the same time ... Texas, Louisianna, Mississippi and then back up through Alabama, (MS again) Arkansas and Kansas - we only set aside 17 days ... man we are going to have to travel fast ... Wendy

We'll be in the Asheville area from the 21st -25th. Stop by if your route back happens to bring you that way.
Come on by and we'll share some stories about life in your neighboring county of Tishomingo, MS.

StreamRollin,
Thank you. I plan to take lots of pictures and will try to share some of them here. I plan to travel leisurely for the first part of the trip with several stops and sightseeing on the Natchez Trace Parkway. There are beautiful nature sites there. I lived right near it for 27 years and enjoyed many short trips in both directions. I have traveled its length from Nashville to Natchez and know it to hold many sites of wander. Thirteen years ago I moved back to Corinth and miss those short refreshing trips and picnics.
I hope your plans mature for your trip. While in Mississippi you could contact us and if close, we could get together for a meal.

Thanks for the invite. I actually will be coming through the Asheville area on Thursday the 22'nd and would love to share some stories of Tishomingo County; I have many friends there. However that leg of our trip will not permit much time killing because of appointments it the great state of Georgia. Perhaps our paths may cross at some later time and we can relate some stories about good old Mississippi living.

On The Road Again Delay
The trip that I had posted has been delayed due to a very serious automobile accident involving my son and daughter-in-law. It was a dark and rainy night on September 4'th and their car hydroplaned on US 72 in the edge of Alabama. My son has several broken ribs and a punctured lung as well as bruises in places that where he didn't even know he had places before. His wife is all bruised up as well. They have been staying at my house since exiting the Hospital. Great improvement yet still unable to carry on.
I canceled the first two weeks of my trip along with any trout fishing in the Wautaga. But I plan to leave on the 22'nd in a southerly direction so as to arrive in Forsyth, GA for the 25'th. After a week there I plan to return home till October 7, when I will be going to TN. with the possibility of making it to Johnson county and Carter county to recover some of the lost opportunities.
