Not a bad moochdocking spot!

Sunrise next to a friend's home in the Madison Valley near Ennis Montana during the July 4 holiday week. Even had a 30 amp pedestal but the wrong outlet on it...so I replaced the weatherproof enclosure and outlet for them as a gesture of thanks....and so I can use it again next time! I got in late the night before so this was taken in the am before I unhitched and hooked up.

Thanks...this forum is such a great place to learn and troubleshoot and has been invaluable...but I've realized it's nice to see posts with pics of finally getting out there and enjoying our trailers!

I completely agree. I am new to all this so I read almost every post daily and sometimes it seems completely overwhelming with tongue weights, hitch setup, which generator or converter to get, tire pressures and CAT scales, etc. It's amazing that I was able to get from NJ to ATL then on to FL without killing myself or everyone else. It was a breath of fresh air to see your photo and remind me of why I wanted to do this in the first place. Please keep the good vibes coming.

Here you go Lauri, another nice moochdocking spot in Miami, Florida last October. I picked up my 'new to me' FC in Tennessee so as long as I was that far East, did some visiting with family and friends in Atlanta, Cedar Key, Tampa, Miami and Ft. Lauderdale...all moochdocking :-)

Can't take credit for it...picked it up off some folks I follow on Instagram last year. I used to call it "driveway glamping" but thought 'moochdocking' had a great ring to it and was in the same family as 'boondocking'.

I love visiting and being able to plug in and have my own space...I'm sure my hosts appreciate it too

Moochdocking? I love it!
There was a guy about 80 yrs old who moochdocked at a friend's place. He had a fifth wheel with solar, was pretty independent and had a network of folks up and down the east coast. He was a very interesting gentleman, I hope he's still enjoying his travels. Here's to Al.

I'm 81 and my wife is 71 (talk about robbing the cradle ) and we are going to visit her 93 year old father in North Haven CT and we'll be docking in the driveway with at least 20 amps. Out brand new 2018 Interstate has 300 watts of solar and we can cool off the interior with the generator and AC. We'll just unplug and take our hosts to dinner in the van and will leave the dogs (Alaskan Husky and Flat Coated Retriever) in the van with the generator running the AC. I will pop out of the restaurant from time to time to make sure the AC is working and the dogs don't get too hot.

Cool thread for a hot day. Hope to be able to host Moochdockers someday once I step out of the rat-race and into harmony with... well whatever. Love the pictures!

Regards - Ron

Moochdocking - I love it. New term for me, but not a new practice. We are thankfully welcomed by friends and family across several states . Stopovers with our own 'guest house' are a great way to visit.

This is our fifth year of Airstreaming. Until this year every trip was meticulously planned out and reservations made in advance. This year we decided to just hit the road in our favorite West North/West direction and let it play out day by day without any planing. I am actually very exited about it. Let you know how it turns out. Might be looking for some Moochdocking accomadations :-)
