Thanks, we made it out to all of that. You’re right, the scenery is beautiful. We haven’t been disappointed anywhere in Newfoundland.

We are back on the west side now, waiting for our noon ferry back over. Currently in Grand Codroy CG. Beautiful spot about 30 miles north of Port Aux Basque.

We saw two Airstreams today(Trailer’s), one heading north and the other going south.

This was one the bears we saw, only one we got a picture of as well. Actually had to stop and the SO jumped out and snapped this shot. It is zoomed in and cropped. Not sure what he was doing with that bird, but neither would leave that place on the road.

This was our view from our campsite at King’s Point RV Park. I think it is owned by the city. $26 full hookups, free laundry, very nice showers with water so hot it will peel your skin off! Humpback whales live in the bay which is over 100’ deep in places. They weren’t home neither night we were there. Beautiful spot.

ST Andrews NB

We were at Kiwanis Oceanfront Camping, St Andrews NB the day after the hurricane. One of the nicest RV parks and towns I have visited. This picture was taken across the street from our site.

I love picking those wild blueberries up there! I’ve been wanting to do a Newfoundland trip so am really enjoying following you.
Also I’ve camped at Lubec, ME, beautiful area. Plus going over the Roosevelt bridge and exploring on the Canadian side was awesome!

We went over to Campbell’s Island after the storm with the intention of taking the ferry to Deer Island but they weren’t operating that day. So, we looked around a bit and then came back to Lubec and drove around to Calais.

You should plan a trip to Newfoundland, it is a very beautiful place. The coastline is amazing. The water most everywhere is very clear. I’d leave a little earlier than us as September 15 is when things like parks and campgrounds start closing for the season. We had a great time and really enjoyed our time there. We just arrived back in N Sydneyready to explore NS.

Thank you for sharing your Newfoundland trip, and so glad you enjoyed it. We just returned home yesterday after two months in Newfoundland and a too-quick trip to Prince Edward Island. We LOVED Newfoundland, "The Rock", as they call it. There are so many wonderful and beautiful places, but the best thing is the people. One of the Canadian advertisements said to stop and listen when Newfies start talking. Taking this advice, we learned so much and became friends with so many. I wrote it all up at www.airstreamtime.com if you are interested. It starts at https://airstreamtime.com/2019/07/22...-newfoundland/
10,500 miles on the truck and many adventures since June 20. I get very sad when I turn around and head back home. Newfoundland is certainly of the best places I have been.

Greg: We spent the summer in Newfoundland five years ago (yikes five years have passed!!!). We loved every moment we were there and definitely plan on returning.

Corvus corax. Virtually none of them in the continental U.S. east of the Rockies. They were having an in-depth conversation, as all such conversations are with those birds. I grew up in awe of them and their unusual intelligence. Even more in awe of their sense of humor.

“Be that word our sign of parting, bird or fiend!” I shrieked, upstarting—
“Get thee back into the tempest and the Night’s Plutonian shore!
Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken!
Leave my loneliness unbroken!—quit the bust above my door!
Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!”
Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

Newfoundland

Been there 5 different times, it is Alaska on the East Coast, but a lot fewer tourists, people that treat you like it was in the 1950's and forget about calving glaciers at Glacier Bay - NF has real icebergs the size of office buildings with humpback whales breaching in full view in front of them. . . I hate to say too much as I like the lack of tourists - but this is a well-kept secret and I will share the secret sauce with my fellow Airstreamers as you don't drag those huge 5th wheels across the land (not that there is anything wrong with them). My wife and I even drove all across Labrador on the only road that crossed it. 250 miles of gravel road (not with the Airstream). Go there in July, whales, icebergs, puffins, lobster and the nicest people you will ever meet. We have been "screeched in" so we are adopted Newfees. My advice, before you die, get your self over there and you will thank me.

Tincampers, thanks again for posting about your trip. We are definitely going. Looks like 2021 for us. The additional comments from gregwall, Cyclist, and Bauerg have sealed the deal (enjoyed the link to the blog). It’s nice to have something this special to look forward to. Any more info? I’m soaking it all up!

We plan on going back there again. I've only been once and that was 50 years ago.

For now we're just taking a quick trip to NS and PEI. My mother's family was from PEI and it's one of our favorite places.

I will be adding more info as I can. We are on the NS coastline heading towards Peggy’s Cove. Woke up to 32 degrees the last two mornings.

I'm not sure where you are right now, but if going to Lunenburg, there was a nice campground located about a 10 minute walk from downtown. It was operated by the local chamber of commerce as I recall and after Labour Day, offered a discount of 4 nights for the price of three (plus a 10% discount for CAA/AAA membership).

Thanks, it wasps a madhouse down there and we decided to vacate the area. I would have liked to see more of that town though.

I was going to hold my native tongue, but since you mentioned it, there is a hashtag #notpeggyscove which reflects the world's general frustration with the Lunenburg / Peggy's Cove area obsessive over-focus.

There's so much to see in Nova Scotia but of course a few locations get stampeded at the expense of the others. That area is nice, but IMO, it ain't nearly what it's cracked up to be.
