Thanks for starting this new thread.

Here are some relatively recent threads to check out:

https://www.airforums.com/forums/f42...vt-178245.html
https://www.airforums.com/forums/f42...ne-207894.html

Good suggestions there, which of course have to be updated for our brave new world . . .

The 2016 "Lucy Has Escaped" thread was first about Nova Scotia and Maine, but here they crossed into NH:

Subsequent posts go across NH/VT to Burlington VT as I recall.

Please let us know, teddies, what you find for current campground status.

Happy Trails.

Hi teddies,

I am a Vermonter with a 16'-er and have done some camping around the area. I personally enjoy the VT State parks, especially Ricker Pond and Maidstone Lake. Brighton was nice too. Those northeastern lakes are pristine and have loons. If you can go during the week, they may not be very full as well. I have found the parks themselves to be clean and well-managed with very nice staff. Queechee is also nice with lots to do in that area. The others are remote. Ricker has a rail trail going through it if you have bikes on board. All VT state parks have no hookups so you're boon docking. And they are often in the woods with limited sun if you have solar. Keep us posted! p.s. here is a link to the conditions of VT roads. https://vtrans.maps.arcgis.com/apps/...53f48c3daf0275 Route 2 can be very "bumpy". I took 105 east towards St.Albans when I stayed at Brighton and it was lovely.

If you want a nice white mountain experience check out the lost river campground, water and electric available alongside the lost river, cell service won't work except at the campground office, but you are super close to loads of hiking, and the Woodstock inn and brewery, one of the best restaurants in the white mountains, is about 5 minutes away, along with kayaking on the Pemi, they have ported day trips and rentals, and fast access to the Kancamagus scenic highway (rt 112). Its easy to get there from Boston and south, just straight up 93n to the Lincoln exit where Loon Mt is, I also recommend the Gipsy Cafe in Lincoln, great international bistro offerings there.

Also, I highly recommend Glen Ellis in North Conway. They did get bought out by the Jelly Stone Park Campground group recently and for a good reason, the place is the most pristine campground in all of New England. 2 rivers pass through the grounds, camping on the edge of both is possible, we camped there every spring with a small group and dropped our kayaks right into the Saco river just feet away from our campsite. this place is so nice, so clean, and the occasional bear w cubs pass through creating some excitement, it wasn't yogi haha.. This campground is right on rt 302 where it meets rt 16 and there is a super market within 30 seconds drive, along with NH state liquor store, and all the restaurants in N Conway right at your fingertips
