New York

We are planning a trip to New York and I was wondering if anyone could recommend some campgrounds and areas that we should see. I am interested in seeing the Adirondacks, the finger lakes and the Catskills mountains.

The Beaverkill Campground in Roscoe, NY is a nice state campground in the Catskills. No hook ups. There are lots of great places in NY, others will chime in, I'm sure.

Watkins Glen and Letchworth are great.
Niagara Falls is definitely worth seeing.

It's called " Up State "

I agree that Roscoe NY is a quaint very small town, that I really like. There are several campgrounds there. It's a fly fishing haven right off rte 17, which is a VERY scenic highway that follows a river. But 17 is being turned into an interstate, you might run into construction.

The high ground above the finger lakes offer beautiful views of the lakes, especially Lake Cayuga, with it's many wine vineyards.

The Adirondacks and Catkills are great. There is a highway between them that has an Irish area with pubs ,gift shops and such

The Irish Area is East Durham. Lake George and Saratoga area beAutiful too. I think NY State Parks are very nice. For Niagra Falls, you can camp at koa Grand Island, four miles from the Falls!
