NE KS to SEDONA, AZ 2021

In November we're wanting to celebrate my spouse's 70th birthday in Sedona with our 16' Bambi, traveling from Lawrence, KS to Sedona, quite probably taking the Route 66 way. How far in advance should we book reservations @ campsites? Any suggestions on which campsites to use?? Thanks in advance!!

November is a very busy time in the area. Suggest booking as soon as possible.

IMHO it is better to book as soon as possible. You can always cancel if necessary.

We love Sedona and enjoyed Rancho Sedona for all of last October in our 23' FB International. However, as we looked forward to October 2021, we found the park was already filling up. So I want to echo the urgency expressed by other respondents.

Don't rule out Cottonwood. More possibilities there for camping. Neat little city. 17 miles from Sedona.

There is a great state park in Cottonwood, Dead Horse Ranch. In Camp Verde there is Distant Drums, a casino location park.

For a spectacular morning, Norther Light Balloon experience. A couple of thousand feet above the Red Rocks watching the colors change as the sun rises is unbelievable. We did this for my wife's birthday a few years back.

Totally agree! Definitely put this in your itinerary if possible. Well worth the effort.

You need to make reservations NOW if you can. Campgrounds are filling up fast. We go to Deadhorse Campground each April this year no room in the inn for April or May. The RV parks are also full

Sedona is beautiful, you will have a great time. We just left there 2 days ago. Suggest you book way ahead of time as itís always busy! We stay at Rancho Sedona RV Park every time. And also, make dinner reservations early as well.

Stay away from the KOA $$$$$$ and there is NO REFUND ON YOUR PREPAID RESERVATION should you need to cancel. Find a local mom and pop campground. The people are generally more customer driven since they own it.

We just returned from a two month long trip minneapolis, MN to Malibu. My recommendation, try to focus most of your travel on weekends. Campsites are easy to find during the week.
