Smile Mueller State Park, CO. Winter.

Winter has been long, and we were so happy to be able to get out enjoy the mountains last weekend. We love having the Airstream to come back to after hiking in the snow— hot coffee, relaxing music, and great scenery. It doesn’t get much better!

Enjoy the post everyone

Wonderful view from the campsite. Pikes Peak is in the background.

The sunrise and sunsets where beautiful.

We love hiking around in the snow. Horsethief Trail.

Incredible photos again. Great review and another go to place.

On a selfish note i'm wishing you guys would start a continuous thread so all your trips are on the same thread. Hence that's what your blog is about.

Almost didn't open this post but saw it was you and thought better check.

Nice job, who says you can't camp in snow.

Hittenstiehl, tell me more if this idea of one thread. Where would I put it in the forums?

It was a selfish notion for me to not miss your posts here. But this is how it might work.

So you would go to the Community Forum under the Off Topic section. You could then pick a topic or title such as.....Glamping W/Two Chicks.....Glamping Adventures of Two Chicks.......Two Chicks Trips ....or whatever.

Each entry would go under that title and people would follow along.

Because it's your thread and its in the off topic section you are free to talk about what you want. As an example Maggie has a running thread called Lily and Me and allows us the pleasure of joining her on her travels and experiences.

Down side might be it takes a while for folks to catch on. And you don't get to title Mueller State Park.

So did they come out and plow the campsite just for you?

Are you getting a normal snow fall this year?

Thanks for sharing again.

Thanks everyone. Our getaway was just what the Dr. ordered. This winter has been stressful with work and cold/snowy weekends, we needed to get away.

WVSTREAMER, if you click the link in the original post you will see many more pictures. Mueller State Park, CO, Winter

OUTDOORS4ME, no, they didn't plow just for us. They keep about 20 sites open in the winter.

KJRITCHIE, it seems to me that snowfall is normal this year. I do know that it has been falling nearly every weekend. lol

Hope everyone can get out and have a winter adventure! Hopefully we will be able to get out again in a few weeks.

Two Chicks: I wish I lived in CO! Tell me, how well does your propane fridge work in freezing weather?

Outdors4me, when we camp in the winter we usually stay at state parks that have electric. We do that so we do not use up all of our propane.
However, during the regular camping seasons, the temps are often 20-30. Our propane fridge works fine, the food is usually nice and cold when we wake up. One morning we had nearly frozen eggs!
