Cool Mount Rushmores rear end.

Hi all. I am currently just finishing spending the night at the Crooked Creek Camp ground on 16 just north of 244. This is at the bottom of the hill, ok mountain, behind Rushmore. Today I plan to visit Crazy Horse and Rushmore, then drive up to devils tower and spend the night. I expect to be in Livingston Montana Tomorrow evening and then on into Missoula Tuesday Morning.
I will let you all know when I have the website set up with the pictures and descriptions.
I have had Butter Cup for about three weeks nad she now has about 3,000 miles on her.

Michelle, I don't know where you plan to stay at DT tonight, but several years ago, we stayed at the KOA, which put us right by the red-colored river that runs by the tower and the tower seemed to rear up in front of us. Made for neat pictures and a picturesque overnight. We don't usually choose KOA because of crowds, but this area did not jam pack rv's together. Just a suggestion. Along the way to Missoula, stop by Big Timber. We would suggest another overnight at Silver Creek Campground which is on the tumbling musical Boulder River just our of town at the start of the Boulder River Valley. This is a private campground that we have enjoyed several times. Also, in Big Timber (really a small western town), have dinner at the remodeled hotel downtown-a treat! Enjoy the rest of your trip and don't miss the many Lewis and Clark sites along the way if these interest you. ~G

Michelle -

Sounds like you're well on your way now. Good to hear also that you were pleased with your service work done at Jackson Center.

I had looked at the weather forecast today and tomorrow for Livingston, which is for snow and rain, but then looks like it should be geting a bit warmer.

The several campgrounds in town in Livingston are nothing to brag about, but might be okay for one night's stay. There's also a couple somewhat better ones just over the pass in Bozeman right along the interstate.

We'll be spending a couple months at Yellowstone's Edge RV Park this summer, 20 miles south of Livingston, but when I talked on the phone last week to a friend of mine who lives most of the year there, he said they were doing some construction and hadn't opened the park yet.

Have a safe continuation of your trip.

John

Cool - that's where our next big trip will be heading to! Enjoy, and share a picture of Crazy Horse with us if you get a chance

Plans Change

Hey all,
My plans changed a little once the weather got worse.
I arrived at Devils tower with the intention of spending several hours there and then the night in the area. It started snowing. I high tailed it out of there.
I was going to stop in Sheridan. I could not find anything. Got gas and continued on to Billings. I had every intention of spendign the night at the Flying J. No parking available for my length. All the truck spots were taken. I continued west to Columbus, MT. There was a Campground but I could not find the road. I was not going to start down a road at night that I could not turn around on. I turned left and into the truck stop. Tucked in between two trucks and went to sleep.
Stopped in Livingston for breakfast and then onto Missoula. Arrived atound noon. Here she sits at Jim and Mary's for the next month or so...
I can't seem to upload right now.

John,
I managed the weather ok. I stopped for breakfast in Livingston at the Beanery. Well worth the stop. Getting over the continental divide was fun. See pictures. I am getting established and may have a job Monday. I was suppoed to have one but the company backed out.

Michelle -- You're doing a great break-in with your Airstream.

Now .... tell us about these cats. Are they traveling cats?

I figure if anything is going to go wrong it would have by now.
My cats are in foster homes until I have something build on my property out here. Should be by the end of the year. I miss them. I was thinking about a kitten but that would proably just tear the trailer apart. If I get the job I want they have several hangar cats. That would work for me.
