Montreal Camping

We are planning several days in Montreal and would appreciate advice on the best campgrounds for access to the city.

I'm from Montreal and there right now visiting family. I've never camped near Montreal but I suggest you consider transit into the city when choosing a campground. Much of the city is presently dug up from replacing aging infrastructure (especially roads) and there is traffic chaos. Montreal has very good public transit including an excellent subway. Note also if driving onto the Island of Montreal - you cannot turn right on a red light (applies only on the island).
