Montana
Sam drove the Safari to Montana last week and I flew out to meet her yesterday. Think she's been having fun?

Oh man, what I wouldn't give to be fishing there right now. Instead I am dog sitting for my oldest son while he goes to a football game. Somehow I think I got the shaft!

Montana is a nice place to be in September. How do we know? We are also there right now and have been happily flyfishing for over a week. A good number of Airstreams are among the many, many RVs here. A beautiful '69 is just leaving the RV park we are in. Great polish and everything on it looked almost newer than factory.

That's a mighty fine looking fish. Nice to meet you and Sam this evening, and I can see that she still hasn't wiped the smile off her face!
Here's a picture of my friend, Dave, and the rainbow he caught here last week. So, you can see there must have been at least 2 nice trout somewhere in Montana.

Montana, where to park?
Wonderful pix of the trout! Wish I were there now. I'm heading out in October and will be there through November. Mostly hunting this trip. Any suggestions on places to park a trailer while I'm in the back country? I will be leaving the truck at the trail head, but don't think it's wise to leave the trailer there as well. South central part of the state, from Helena south and east.
Thanks!
Anne

Donna -
My wife and I moved all over the northwest US and Canada for 6 years, but we now spend the summer and fall on the Yellowstone near Emigrant. I really love your part of the state too, and we used to spend a week or two there every year, but there were just too many of those places and not enough time for them all.

John,
If you are at Yellowstone's Edge, we will see you there next week. Hope the fly fishing has been good. It has been great on the Madison.

Yes, we are at Yellowstone's Edge. I just heard from Sam last night about the great fishing on the Madison.
All I can tell you about the Yellowstone fly fishing is that I tied a Salmon/Steelhead leader today on for my 7wt, 9 1/2' rod.
