Midsummer Airstreaming in the south of Sweden - YouTube

For Airstream owners, Scandinavia is an ideal destination with wide lands, plenty of nature and low population density. The south of Sweden also called Swedish Riviera is well known for its open fields and endless sandy beaches. Since the Öresund Bridge was built in the mid-90th and opened in year 2000, travelling there from continental Europe with a Caravan became quite a bit easier. No overnight ferry trip is required anymore for those who do not like to sail on the east sea. A good example for a natural campsite is Löderups Strandcamping near Ystad in south of Sweden. This site is located close to Ystad, the famous city of Swedish writer Mankell and his police detective Wallander. The Campsite is in Löderup is located right at the beach and offers a couple of spectacular waterfront pitches on sandy ground. The host of the site likes to keep things simple and therefore does not offer any pitch reservation system but is operated on a first come first serve base. Campsite infrastructure is clean and simple but the view and beaches a priceless.
The Midsummer festivity is one of the most important national days in Sweden and celebrated by everyone. Typically people invite friends to their homes and enjoy a long evenings drinking, eating and dancing. At these days you may find Swedish women being dresses up with flower rings in their hair and Swedish man dressed up with summer suits and white heats. It is also a time where Swedish RV owners like to stay out and meet at campsite everywhere in the country.
Despite long beach walks and spectacular nature you can find different activities in the area. Small art and design boutiques, restaurants with local specialties and fresh smoked fish and the famous stone ship Ale's Stone. Ystad is for sure worth a visit and offers interesting architecture and good shopping opportunities on the local market and shops. However the best thing you will find after some daytime activity are the spectacular sun downers in front of your Airstream.

Armin, Thanks for the video. The scenes are beautiful. Sweden is one of the few destinations on my list that I have not been to. I can't wait! Thanks again
